In 2018, WORLD formed an advisory group to provide input on its initiative to inform the global discussion on international migration by providing data on migration laws and policies across the globe. The group, supported by the Ford Foundation, was comprised of leaders from academia, civil society and intergovernmental organizations, who met on a range of topics important to migration. Over the course of its tenure, the group provided rich input and discussion that helped shape WORLD's migration data development. When WORLD launched the completed data in 2021, the advisory group helped disseminate to stakeholders around the world.
