One of the largest non-governmental organizations in the world, BRAC International operates in more than 11 countries to alleviate poverty through a range of economic and social development initiatives. WORLD has partnered with BRAC in Uganda, where the BRAC Research Hub in Kampala welcomed a number of WORLD doctoral fellows to collaborate on research and evaluation of BRAC programs focused on topics such as girls’ education, equality, nutrition, hunger reduction, and environmental policy. This collaboration led to studies on Drivers of Under-2 Stunting Among Rural Ugandan Households: An Exploration of Nutrition Practices, Environmental Factors and Climate Events and Climate Event Consequences on Food Insecurity and Child Stunting Among Smallholder Farmers in Uganda: A Cross-Sectional Study. A collaboration with BRAC in Sierra Leone led to a study on The Educational and Career Aspirations of Young Women and Girls in a Post-Conflict Setting: A Descriptive Study from Sierra Leone.
