Climate Policy Radar works to map and analyze climate policy pathways globally, to support evidence-based policymaking and investment, and enhance data democratization and accountability to support the transition to a low carbon, resilient world.
WORLD is collaborating with Climate Policy Radar to develop tools that facilitate bringing together all the world’s laws that matter to climate change and adaptation across an array of domains, in a readily accessible way.
Together, we are creating a searchable database of laws from around the world that matter for climate mitigation and adaptation. We aim to continuously update the database by regularly scraping the web for new laws from 193 countries. This initiative combines Climate Policy Radar’s expertise on climate laws with WORLD’s long-term commitment to making all social, economic and environmental laws that matter to equality, human health, and well-being easily available to all.
We hope this project will have impact in a number of areas:
- Learning about legal change happening in countries in real-time
- Learning what works best by comparing laws across countries
- Accelerating the passage of new laws and policies that lead to effective climate mitigation and adaptation
- Monitoring and improving implementation
