By ratifying global agreements, governments around the world have pledged to uphold the social and economic rights of their citizens. As a global community, we need information and opportunities to engage in order to ensure these commitments are realized. On April 24, 2015 the WORLD Policy Analysis Center hosted a one-day international conference, Monitoring and Accountability: Supporting Governments to Meet their Commitments, at UCLA’s Carnesale Commons. This conference convened international leaders in policy, research, and media to present and discuss strategies that leverage technology and globally comparative data to enhance civic engagement and support monitoring and accountability.
