WORLD regularly submits alternative reports to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). In these reports, we detail the legal and/or constitutional landscape in the country vis à vis the commitments it has made under the Convention, propose questions for the Committee to ask the countries during the review process, and suggest concluding observations that the Committee include in its post-review report to each country.
In these reports, we focus on topics fundamendal to equality and non-discrimination of women. Topics in our reports have included equality and non-discrimination in constitutions, non-discrimination in work and employment, sexual harassment and sex-based harassment, paid maternity leave, paid paternity leave, and child marriage.
