Guided by the principles and values in the constitution, SECTION27 works to achieve substantive equality and social justice throughout South Africa. Over the years, SECTION27 has successfully litigated a number of landmark cases whose judgments have protected or advanced the right to basic education and healthcare in South Africa.
WORLD is thrilled to have had the opportunity to co-host a knowledge exchange convening with SECTION27 in South Africa in 2019 on Advancing Constitutional Economic, Social and Equal Rights by Building a Global Network and Designing a Learning Agenda to Accelerate Change. This convening brought together members of civil society, academics, jurists, lawyers, movement builders, policymakers and others who shared knowledge and strategies on advancing the realization of equal rights in all the world’s constitutions.
