One of the most fundamental conditions for quality of life is the protection of health and prevention of avoidable illness and disability throughout life. Public health measures play an essential role during unexpected health crises and in reducing leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the world annually. Workers’ ability to take leave for their own health needs and those of their family is critical to reducing disease spread and the protection of health for individual workers and their families. Lives of children are also shaped by their families’ ability to access medical services, regardless of their socioeconomic status or place of residence.
